Tiger Woods has committed to play in the 2018 Memorial Tournament being held May 31 – June 3, 2018. Tiger will be going for his sixth win at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. The 2018 tournament marks the first time Tiger will be playing since 2015.
With five wins under his belt at Muirfield, Tiger feels right at home on the course. This may be the best chance he’s had to get a his first win since 2015. He’s playing well, but he hasn’t everything firing, everyday, in any tournament this season. He did take away a lot from his final round at the 2018 Players, “I felt good in basically every facet of my game,” said Woods, “It’s just a matter of seeing a couple go in and all of a sudden the lid pops off.”
Every year The Memorial Tournament honors a golfing great. This year’s honoree is Hale Irwin. In addition to Irwin’s three U.S. Opens, he won 20 PGA TOUR events, has won a record 45 times on the PGA TOUR Champions, a record he still holds. Another record he still holds, he’s the oldest U.S. Open champion. It’s one of the toughest tournaments to win, and unless Mickelson wins one, the record may be safe fore quite a while.
